Phillip M. Mosier, 33, of Clay City, Indiana, was arrested by the McDonough County Sheriff’s night patrol at 1 a.m. on Dec. 1, on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol.

According to a press release from the McDonough County Sheriff’s Deparment, Mosier failed field sobriety tests after being stopped in the area of Highway 136 and 1150 North after motorists alerted officers of erratic driving by a vehicle missing license plates.

The press release reads, “deputies recovered a loaded Remmington 700 rifle and an open bottle of rum from the front seat.”

Mosier was lodged in the McDonough County Jail following his arrest.
