Kendra Taylor, 18, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery after admitting to stabbing Brian McCue, 21, in the back on Oct. 22 at around 1:25 a.m.

Taylor, originally of Chicago, initially tried using self defense as a reason behind the stabbing. However, MPD reports that McCue was walking away and that a self defense case was no longer viable for her.

McCue was found at the 400 block of West Adams Street with the knife in his back near his shoulder. McCue became combative with emergency personnel and had to be restrained before being transported to McDonough District Hospital for treatment.

McCue was later charged with aggravated battery after being uncooperative with officers and medical staff and battering a paramedic. MPD reports that McCue was also highly intoxicated at the time of the incident
