At around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 28, shots were fired in the 400 block of West Adams St. by an unknown person.

 The Macomb Police Department (MPD) confirmed on Sunday that a firearm was discharged in the area and the department is currently investigating the incident and searching for any information that could lead to an arrest.

 The Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety sent out an email to the campus community with the report shortly before 9 a.m. on Sunday, as the location is just blocks away from the campus.

 MPD is currently looking to the public for help in identifying the individual and any information surrounding the incident.

 Area Crime Stoppers are currently offering a $1,000.00 cash reward for any information that leads to an arrest.

 MPD is asking that anyone with information either contact the police department directly or contact Crime Stoppers by texting the information to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637) or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS.  Crime Stoppers does not require that those giving information give their own names, just information about the suspects and the incident.
