2 out of 4Last October, Hollywood released “Boogie Nights” and proved that there are still some good stories to come out of the crazy last days of disco. Just because I liked “Boogie Nights,” however, doesn’t mean I want to see countless other films trying to mimic the style achieved by director Paul Thomas Anderson.

The latest movie to obviously cash in on the success of the wild stories of the late ’70s is “54.” This stylish film is the story of the famed Studio 54 in New York, a three-ring circus of music, drugs and sex that catered to celebrities and the rich.
